Apple Is Reportedly Bringing A New Windows App To The Microsoft Store

Apple has offered various apps for Windows for years including Safari and iTunes. There might be a new app coming to the Microsoft Store for Windows 10 soon, too, according to a new report.

That report comes via Italian website Aggiornamenti Lumi although it doesn’t say much. The gist is that there’s a new Apple app coming for Windows 10 and that it’ll be distributed via the Microsoft Store.

Apple was recruiting for developers that would be specifically tasked with building apps for Windows just last year, with “media” specifically mentioned. With that in mind it doesn’t require a huge leap of faith to assume that there’s an Apple TV+ or Apple Music app incoming, especially since Apple killed iTunes on the Mac. Doing the same on Windows is surely in the roadmap.

Last year’s job requirements also listed a need for experienced with Universal Windows Platform (UWP) which suggests the new app(s) might also work on the Xbox One upcoming Xbox Series X, too.

If Apple does intend to make Apple TV+ into a real competitor for other streaming services – as the amount of money spent might suggest – getting an app onto every platform is important. The Xbox lineup and all Windows 10 PCs are no different.

There’s no indication when we can expect to see new Windows software with an Apple logo on, but it’s unlikely to be far away. The original Italian report did say it’s “coming soon” after all.
