Apple has launched a new series of videos designed to assist educators in navigating the challenges and uncertainties associated with educating pupils and students at home. The video series appears to have been launched as part of Apple’s partnership with IBM and currently consists of two videos, with more to come.
The Apple Education (@AppleEDU) Twitter account announced the launch of the Apple Education Learning Series, promising that it would be an ever-growing collection of videos.
Today we’re launching Apple Education Learning Series, a growing collection of videos designed to help schools and educators make the most of #RemoteLearning on their Apple devices.
Although the archive currently only contains two videos, they are both extremely informative and set the scene for the future with what’s to come as Apple and its partners look to offer advice and assistance to educators and educational establishments during the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. Of course, as well as being assistive and informative, the videos also show how educators can work with Apple’s own hardware and services to promote remote education initiatives.
The first video, titled “Prepare Resources for Remote Learning,” immediately stipulates that it will allow educators to learn about remote learning with Apple iPad:
This video will help educators learn how to get up and running for remote learning with iPad. We’ll explore ways to access school resources and find apps that support remote learning. Tips will include using iPad built-in features to scan documents and stay organized, using Markup to annotate teacher materials and student work, getting set up with Voice Memos, and more.
The second video is titled “Create and Share Presentations and Demos” and gives information and insight on how to present information to students and learners who aren’t physically on-site and how to make the presentation of that information more interesting and compelling.
In addition to the video series, Cupertino-based Apple Inc. will also be offering educators the opportunity to participate in short and concise 30-minute virtual conferences that are being led by Apple’s educational specialists and will give people in attendance the opportunity to “engage in dialogue with our team about the content provided in each video.”
We don’t know how long this pandemic will last, or how long the face of our reality will change for, but it seems that Apple wants to be at the forefront of the effort to push efficient remote education.
