Apple held its quarterly earnings call yesterday with some interesting news coming out of it. According to Apple, both the Mac and iPad saw huge revenue increases while the iPhone 12 is the most popular model of Apple’s flagship lineup.
The numbers are huge. Apple says the Mac category brought in $9.1 billion in revenue, up from $5.4 billion in the same quarter a year ago.
It was a similar story with the iPad, with $7.8 billion of revenue representing an increase from $4.4 billion in the quarter the year prior.
Also notable is Apple CFO Luca Maestri’s assertion that more than half of all Macs and iPads were sold to customers who have never bought one before.
In terms of the iPhone 12, Apple says that it was the most popular of all of its flagship devices.
iPhone 12, of the family, it’s the most popular. We saw very strong sales of the Pro and Pro Max, and the revenue that you’re seeing is a function of unit growth and revenue per unit growth.
The iPhone 12 sits in the middle of Apple’s lineup, with iPhone 12 mini, iPhone 12 Pro, and iPhone 12 Pro Max rounding out the list of flagship devices currently sold by the Cupertino outfit
