The ongoing coronavirus pandemic is causing untold problems, and not just for the stock market. A shortage of N95 face masks has become a real concern among healthcare professionals as they continue to combat the virus.
But Apple has stepped up to the plate by joining others in donating millions of masks to those who need them most.
According to a tweet by Apple CEO Tim Cook, his company is donating millions of masks across the United States and Europe in an attempt to help those who are treating for patients who are infected. The use of masks also helps to prevent the further spread of the infection by those who already have it, too.
The United States is expected to need billions upon billions of N95 masks with the final figure dependent on how long the pandemic takes hold for.
Apple has also donated large cash sums to those who need it most, with $15 million handed over to help lessen the impact of coronavirus on areas that would normally find it difficult – or impossible – to recover.
Apple continues to keep its Apple Stores closed around the world, although those located in Greater China have reopened after the country began to get the coronavirus issue under control.
