Apple Confirms Visual Intelligence Is Coming To iPhone 15 Pro

Apple’s Visual Intelligence feature, which was originally thought to be exclusive to iPhone 16 models, is now coming to iPhone 15 Pro as well.

This advanced AI tool is part of Apple Intelligence and helps users learn more about their surroundings using the camera.

Visual Intelligence allows your iPhone to identify places and objects, detect text, translate languages, and even read text aloud using AI. It also lets users expand their searches with results from Google or ChatGPT for more information.

Previously, some thought the iPhone 15 Pro wouldn’t get this feature because it lacks the Camera Control button found in the iPhone 16 lineup. However, Apple has now confirmed to Daring Fireball that a future iOS update will bring Visual Intelligence to iPhone 15 Pro users, and it will work through the Action Button—just like on the newly announced iPhone 16e.

Apple hasn’t given an exact date, but the update is expected to roll out with iOS 18.4. The first beta version of iOS 18.4 could arrive in the next few days.

For iPhone 16 users, Visual Intelligence is activated by holding the Camera Control button, while iPhone 16e users can access it via the Action Button or a new Control Center toggle. iPhone 15 Pro users will soon get the same functionality once the update goes live.
