Apple Announces WWDC 2021 For June 7 With An All-Online Event

Apple today announced that it will be running a virtual WWDC 2021 event during June, with June 7 through June 11 being the dates developers will want to book out in their calendars.

This will be the second time a virtual event has been held rather than an in-person one.

Last year saw WWDC go virtual for the first time due to the COVID-19 pandemic and Apple has decided that a similar route is the best one to take this year, too. That does also mean that the event will be free for all developers as well.

You’ll get a first look at the latest Apple platforms, tools, and technologies — so you can create your most innovative apps and games yet.

WWDC 2021 will likely see the first outing of iOS 15, macOS 12, watchOS 8, and more with some suggesting that we will also see information about new products as well. WWDC is usually all about the software however, with Apple giving developers a heads-up about new features and APIs that will be released later in the year.

Last year’s virtual event was a successful one and it’s possible Apple will continue this format even once the world returns to normal.
