It’s official now. Apple will host a media event on Wednesday, September 9th, to unveil iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus to the world.
Alongside the new iPhones, Apple is likely to release iOS 9 GM on the same day. Apple TV 4 with a new and revamped remote is also expected to be announced at the event.
As expected, the event will be held at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in San Francisco, California and will begin at 10:00 am Pacific Time.
The new iPhones will of course be the highlight of the event. The rumor mill has been churning up some really interesting features for Apple’s upcoming flagship phones, with the most talked about being the inclusion of Force Touch technology. Interestingly while that would give users a whole new way to interact with iOS on the device, it does spell a change in display technology of sorts as well. Perhaps the most recent leak of information which suggests the arrival of the Apple Watch styled Motion wallpapers for the iPhone 6s is hinting at that possibility, where this feature greatly depends on deeper blacks, something that the current Retina display on iPhone 6 cannot afford.
Other intricate specs that have been hinted and rumored at, are the existence of new 12MP iSight camera with 4K video recording, an all-new A9 CPU, 2GB of RAM, sturdier casing, SiP architecture, and possibly smaller battery.
Pre-orders for the new iPhones are expected to go live on September 11th, followed by launch on September 18th.
We’ll obviously be covering every news from Apple’s September 9th event live from the event. Stay tuned for more!
Update x1: Seems like Apple has programmed Siri to give witty replies when asked “Hey Siri, give us a hint” phrase. This one below in particular is pretty hilarious.
