Apple has today announced that January 10th will be the date for its annual ‘Red Friday’ sale for consumers in Asian countries. The special one-day shopping event takes place around the same time every year, representing a chance for technology aficionados in participating countries to get their hands on some Apple merchandise at often heavily discounted rates. Although the event is officially a Lunar New Year sale, due to the fact that it takes place a few weeks before the Lunar New Year, it’s affectionately given the Red Friday title as it’s thought of as being the Asian variant of Black Friday.
Apple will be using the Red Friday event to offer some great deals to consumers on a range of official products. Macs, iPods, iPads and an assortment of accessories for each piece of kit will have a variety of discounts and incentives applied to them, with the aim of enticing customers in.
The level of discount or promotion that will be applied to each product is currently unknown. It’s also unknown if the Cupertino based company will go down the traditional route of marking prices down for the day or if they will follow the Black Friday example of offering gift cards with each purchase of a qualifying product within the sale.
Regardless of the route which Apple takes, history has shown us that a number of worthwhile offers will be available during opening hours. All available offers will be available to consumers through the official online Apple Store, physical retail outlets in qualifying countries as well as through the Apple Store mobile app that is available as a free-of-charge download from the App Store. The discounts will be available in Hong Kong, China, Malaysia, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan and Thailand.
As is always the case with these types of sales, it’s definitely worth having a look at Apple’s accompanying terms before heading down to the local store full of excitement at the expected bounty.
Quantities of each item in the sale could potentially be limited and promotional pricing cannot be applied to any other offer. Apple even reserves the right to change the pricing at any time and pull any item from the offer without further notice. Pretty standard terms and conditions that are regurgitated annually for this event. Make sure to get to your local store on January 10th to grab some bargains.
