The coming days and weeks represent an extremely exciting and important time for Google and their manufacturing partners, with the official release of a wave of new Android based devices set to go live imminently. The recently announced LG Nexus 4 smartphone, the Samsung Nexus 10, and the new variants of the already heralded Nexus 7 will be available in the marketplace extremely soon and will no doubt cause a spending spree amongst the Android loving community. To make things a little more exciting, testers are starting to see Android 4.2 Jelly Bean pushed through to their test units of the aforementioned devices.

The LG Nexus 4 has already been given extremely positive reviews and looks certain to become one of the most popular devices on the market. It’s unknown whether or not the Samsung Nexus 10 will be able to compete with the dominant iPad, but this update that brings additional features to both devices can’t do it any harm. The Android 4.2 update brings the ability to use lock screen widgets to both the Nexus 4 and the Nexus 10. The device experience can be customized with the widgets that allow users to interact with services like email, calendars and the device camera.

Although a brand new tablet device, the Nexus 10 is notable by its lack of support for multiple user accounts. The Android 4.2 updates resolves that issue by bringing the feature to the device and will allow the slate to be passed around family members with each one having their own personal space on the device. Each individual person using the Nexus 10 will be able to have their own personalized area that can be tailored to their own tastes and used for things like gaming, storing visual media and interacting with apps from the Play Store.

Those who are planning on purchasing either the Nexus 10 or LG Nexus 4 when launched will immediately get a nice little surprise in the form of an over-the-air update bringing Android 4.2. Make sure to go through the installation process immediately to enjoy everything that the latest update to the world’s most popular mobile operating system brings. It should only be a matter of time until current and new Nexus 7 owners benefit from the same update.
