iPhone 13 Pro and the iPhone 13 Pro Max are both reportedly set to feature LPTO OLED display complete with a 120Hz refresh rate.
ProMotion display for the iPhone 13 has been rumored for some time now, with more recent rumors suggesting that Apple may skip on the tech this year citing battery life constraints. But now, once more, analyst Ross Young believes the tech is in fact coming.
LPTO displays offer much better power efficiency when compared to the panels Apple had been using earlier for the iPhones, and as such should put back a higher refresh rates back on the cards for the 2021 iPhone lineup.
That said, it appears that only the Pro series will be offering the ProMotion display, which is still much better than earlier rumors about Apple planning to make the tech exclusive to only one model.
As Young tells us in his tweet:
Heard some rumors in the industry and media that there would only be one LTPO model from Apple later this year. Can confirm that is not the case. Apple fans can relax!
LPTO display rumors for the iPhone 13 are not new, and reports have both LG Display and Samsung setting up to produce the panels for Apple’s 2021 smartphones, but we still have no official confirmation of that,
