Amber: The Elegant Apple Watch Charging Case That Doubles As Power Bank For iPhone

The extremely popular Kickstarter crowd funding website regularly hosts some seriously impressive gems that have mass appeal to amateur investors and enthusiast all over the world. Those gems can often fall into various categories, such as technology, art, journalism, or publishing. But today, we’re focusing on the technology genre, and in particular the “Amber” project that is looking to fund a gorgeous, chic watch case that offers protective and charging features to the popular Apple Watch.

If funded, the Amber project will actually offer a number of benefits not only to Apple Watch owners, but also iPhone owners too. First and foremost, the Amber case will introduce a snug and secure fit for the Apple Watch to ensure that the magnetic charging connection on the timepiece remains consistently connected when charging. The box itself is also designed to offer as much protection as possible for the Apple Watch while it remains connected internally. Everything is neatly designed, and packaged extremely well with hidden charging cables.

One of the more appealing aspects of Amber is the versatility of the product. When initially designing the idea, the creators behind it had the ethos that any power bank should be extremely versatile and have the ability to service more than one product. In addition to being able to protect and charge an Apple Watch internally, the little box also has an external connection which allows a USB cable to be plugged in to charge other devices, such as an iPhones, or even Android devices. One single Amber charge can provide 8 cycles of charge for the Apple Watch, or just one charge, in the case of an iPhone 6/6s.

If functionality, versatility and an impressive ability to charge two devices at once doesn’t appeal to you, then how about aesthetic options? Like Apple’s range of iPhones, the Amber will also be offered in multiple color options, with black, rose gold, gold, and silver versions all being available when the product actually gets funded and makes it to market.

A pledge of $69 is all it will take to get an early version of Amber in any of the aforementioned colors. Those feeling a bit more generous can take it from there and up the stakes to get discounts on multiple purchases. Amber is expected to start shipping out by December this year. At the time of writing Amber had neared $43,000 of its $50,000 goal.
