Amazon has announced that it has begun to take pre-orders for no fewer than five new Prime Exclusive handsets with manufacturers such as Nokia, Motorola, and Alcatel all with skin in the game.
Just as you might expect, all of the handsets will include Amazon’s promos on their lock screens which will allow the retailer to keep the pricing of the devices down.
Kicking things off is the Nokia 6. Nokia announced the same device for the U.S. market only yesterday and it can be bought from Amazon in its standard form for $229. The handset itself comes equipped with a Snapdragon 430 CPU and 3GB of RAM. There is also 32GB of storage and a 5.5″ 1080p screen thrown in as well, and Amazon is reducing the price by a full $50 off Nokia’s normal price, charging $179 for the Prime Exclusive version.
Next up is the Moto E4 from, obviously enough, Motorola. While those looking for a Moto E4 deal can already pick the the Verizon Prepaid version of the same phone up for $69, that is no good for those who do not want to use Verizon as their provider. This Prime Exclusive version is carrier unlocked as you might expect, giving plenty of flexibility to buyers for just $99. For that you’ll get a 5″ 720p display, the latest and greatest version of Android – 7.1 – and 2GB of RAM. Storage is a little on the small side at 16GB but for the price, this is a nice little phone indeed.
Finishing the roundup off is Alcatel’s three phones, and we will kick things off with the highest end Idol 5S. Priced at $199 ($279 normally), the Idol 5s comes with a 5.2″ 1080p display, dual front-facing speakers, a reasonable 3GB of RAM and a very reasonable 32GB of storage. There is also a fingerprint sensor and a microSD slot so there are plenty of high-end boxes ticked. Out of the box the phone will only work with AT&T and T-Mobile, although a software update is apparently on the way that will sort that out eventually.
The other two phones that are included are the A50 and the A30 PLUS, although neither are particularly interesting. Both are however very inexpensive and will cost $99 and $79, respectively – a saving of $50 for each handset.
Those looking to order will be pleased to know that the Moto E4 will ship first, starting on June 30th, while all other handsets will be available July 10th.
