Apple will add sensor-shift image stabilization technology to all four versions of the iPhone 13, according to a new report by the reliably unreliable DigiTimes.
Sensor-shift camera stabilization is already available on the iPhone 12 Pro Max, but the other models have to make do with less impressive stabilization offering.
The result is that the largest iPhone 12 Pro can take better shots at night and when there is movement involved and, according to DigiTimes, that feature is coming to all iPhone 13 models this year.
It’s worth noting that the DigiTimes report, is only an initial teaser of a larger, more full report that will be made available tomorrow. As a result, it’s difficult to know what intricacies are involved here. For example, will the feature only be available to the wide angle lens on iPhone 13 models, as is the case with the iPhone 12 Pro Max today?
Apple’s next-generation iPhones slated for launch in the second half of 2021 will all come with sensor-shift stabilization technology, according to industry sources.
For now, we’re left waiting for the deeper dive tomorrow. However, the addition of sensor-shift image stabilization could be a huge deal for the iPhone 13 lineup should it come to fruition.
