Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo is one of the go-to sources to get a feel for what is going on in Apple’s supply chain. He’s usually on the money, so when he said last month that we could expect multiple 5G iPhones this year, we listened.
And when another analyst said last week that some of those 5G iPhones might be delayed, we pondered. But no Kuo is back, and he’s having none of it.
Last week a Susquehanna report suggested that the mmWave 5G iPhones might be delayed until early 2021, while the sub-6GHz iPhone would be on-track for this year.
However, MacRumors has seen another research note from Kuo in which he says again that Apple is on track. All 5G iPhones are going to be good to go this year.
Kuo is of the belief that shipments will begin in the third and fourth quarter of 2020 with all iPhones on board. It’s still possible that the mmWave 5G iPhones will arrive a few weeks after their normal 5G alternatives, but we’ll have to wait and see how things pan out there.

When it comes to trying to figure out exactly what Apple and its suppliers are up to, Ming-Chi Kuo is usually the first name you listen to. So for now at least, that’s exactly what we’re going to do.
