AirPods Pro 2 7A294 Firmware For iOS 18 Released

Apple has released AirPods Pro 2 build 7A294 firmware with iOS 18 features. Here are the details on this release.

If you’re the owner of a pair of AirPods Pro 2, you have a new firmware version available for download whether you have the USB-C or Lightning version.

The firmware has a build number of 7A294, a move beyond the previous version of 6F8, and as mentioned it’s available to everyone who owns the AirPods Pro 2 wireless earbuds.

The new firmware update brings with it support for a number of new features that will be made available once iOS 18 is released to the public on September 16.

Those features include the ability to use head gestures to answer or reject a phone call, while Siri interactions can also be used to respond to messages and more.

Apple’s iOS 18 update, alongside the new firmware update, will also add Voice Isolation support to the AirPods Pro, making it easier for people to be heard when making phone calls. Game developers can also now add support for spatial audio to their titles for users who are wearing AirPods Pro.

Unfortunately, Apple does not offer any way for users to manually install new AirPods firmware updates which means that you can’t force the update yourself. Instead, firmware updates are installed automatically whenever the AirPods are in their charging case and connected to an iPhone, iPad, or Mac.
