It’s almost time for the FIFA World Cup 2018 to kick off in Russia, and if you’re a fan of the one true form of football, then you’re likely already keen to get the action underway.
I know I cannot wait for what is sure to be another fun-filled few weeks of some of the best action around, and there are few items on the calendar that can garner the interest of a World Cup. Speaking of calendars, wouldn’t it be great to have each and every match on yours?
Nobody wants to miss any of the big games that will be taking place over the course of the tournament, and thanks to the wonder of timezones, it can be difficult to keep track of kick-off times even if you know what date a match is taking place. If you have everything in place in your calendar, then this isn’t something you need to worry about, so without further ado, let’s run through all you need to do to get each and every FIFA World Cup fixture into your calendar.
In order to get all this to work, all you need to do is log into your Google Calendar account on the Web by pointing your browser to calendar.google.com, and click the little “+” sign next to Add a friend’s calendar in the left hand-side navigation panel. Next, click ‘From URL’ and paste in the following .ICS file: ics.fixtur.es/v2/league/fifa-2018-russia.ics. Click Add Calendar and voila, you’ve got all the World Cup fixtures in your calendar.
If you’ve got everything set up just so, you’ll also get them pushed to your smartphone, be it an iPhone or Android, which is doubly awesome. To do this, head on over to www.google.com/calendar/syncselect and select the newly added calendar to have it push across to your iOS device, too. Android user? No problem, if you’ve added the calendar to Google Calendar, then it will show up in your calendar app of choice.
See? We told you it was easy!
If Google Calendar doesn’t fit your bill, we have got you covered with iCal file too. On an iOS device or Mac, simply open this webcal://ics.fixtur.es/v2/league/fifa-2018-russia.ics?50d189988feeb1fd link in browser and it will automatically prompt you to add every fixture to your calendar.
Best of all, whether you go with .ICS or iCal route, both of them will have timezone of all the fixtures right in your local timezone!
