The rush to get iOS 8-compatible versions of jailbreak tweaks out the door is well and truly on, and we’re starting to see some of the real heavy hitters in the jailbreak scene start to get updates out the door. The famous Ryan Petrich is one that everyone looks to, and the man himself has now pushed new beta releases of some of his most popular tweaks into his beta repo for iOS 8.
The three tweaks, all very popular, can be downloaded from Petrich’s repo right now, but it’s the release of a beta build of Activator that is arguably the most important of the three. With so many other tweaks and apps relying on Activator to either work at all or bring added functionality to the table, we expect there will be plenty of developers out there that are as happy to see its arrival as we are.
Alongside AppList and Flipswitch, Activator can be downloaded by adding the relevant repo to your Cydia install. The repo in question resides at http://rpetri.ch/repo and can be added via the usual ‘Sources’ option in Cydia. If you’re going to be installing beta releases of jailbreak tools though, make sure you’re well aware of what you’re getting yourself into.
It doesn’t get closer to the front lines than running a beta of a jailbreak tweak, on a new operating system, using a new jailbreak method.
But don’t let us put you off!
