It features an all new design, has a 4-inch gorgeous Retina display, the new powerful Apple A6 processor, is billed as being the best thing to happen to the iPhone since the iPhone, and now thanks to AT&T in the United States, the eight week old iPhone 5 is available for consumers to obtain through as a refurbished device with a severely reduced price-tag. Because the sixth-generation iPhone is relatively new into the world we haven’t yet seen Apple offering any refurbished models of the device through their usual channels so it’s great news for consumers that AT&T are stepping up with this offer.
As you would expect from an official sales channel such as AT&T, all of the refurbished iPhone 5 handsets have been brought back up to manufacturers standards through official channels and should offer the exact same customer experience that consumers would expect from a brand new iPhone. AT&T also seem to have the full range of iPhone 5 models for potential consumers to choose from, with both black and white variants available with either a 16, 32 or 64GB internal storage capacity.
Pricing for the refurbished devices through the AT&T website start at $99 for the bottom of the range 16GB model and rise by $100 as the storage capacity doubles. The 32GB model carries an initial $199 price-tag with the top-spec 64GB version of the iPhone 5 setting customers back an initial $299. Those who wish to go down the refurbished route with AT&T and want to save a little money on the initial handset purchase will also need to sign up to a compatible iPhone 5 two-year calling plan and will be limited to five purchases per household.
The AT&T website doesn’t make it clear anywhere whether or not these refurbished deals are part of a special Black Friday offering, or if they will continue after the Thanksgiving period, but considering each refurbished model represents a reduction of $100 on the price of a standard iPhone 5 through AT&T, it may be a good idea for those who were planning on purchasing one to get it now incase the deal does end this weekend. It’s also worth noting that the price reduction deals for the refurbished models can only be taken out directly through the official AT&T website.
