Crysis 3 is set to become one of next year’s most hotly anticipated games, and with releases set to come on the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC, there will be plenty of gamers out there sat waiting for any nugget of information that leaks out about the game itself.
Today has seen the first teaser trailer released by Crysis maker Electronic Arts. Only announced earlier this week, the firm is apparently keen to keep the buzz rocking, and giving gamers short teasers is a great way to do just that.
We say short because, well, they don’t get much shorter than this. Clocking in at just nineteen seconds – yes, blink and there is a very real chance that you’ll miss it – the teaser leaves plenty to the imagination. Released simply to remind everyone that a gameplay video will be released next week on April 24th, this teaser shows very few things that can give us any indication as to what Crysis 3 will be all about.
Those wishing to read things into the video will note that one of the game’s new weapons is present. With a bow being shown; it is possible that some will believe that Crysis 3 will take on a different feel to its predecessors, and with the jungle surroundings we cannot help but be reminded of Turok. Throw in some dinosaurs and you’re 80% of the way there.
Gamers wishing to get their hands on the game as soon as possible can order the new Crysis 3 Hunter Edition, which includes early access to the game’s new weapons, including that bow, as well as other goodies. If you’re the kind of gamer that likes special editions, expect to stump up around $60 unless you can find a deal somewhere.
Despite the shortness of the video we have to say it looks absolutely awesome. The new cryENGINE 3 looks to be doing its job well, and we can only hope that those of us who like to play our games on home consoles will be able to experience the game in as much glory as PC gamers. Notoriously better looking, PC games have often received poor ports to the consoles. The Crysis series of games changed that by offering stellar Xbox 360 and PS3 versions, offering a glimmer of hope to those of us who don’t want to keep buying new graphics cards every three months.
