Aqara Unveils A New Home Control Tablet For Smart Homes

Owners of smart homes can control their lights, heating, and other components using their phones and voice, among other things.

But Aqara has announced new touchscreen smart control panels that take interfaces to a whole new level, replacing boring light switches with something altogether more interesting.

The announcements came as part of the ongoing CES event in Las Vegas and begin with the Panel Hub S1 Plus, Touchscreen Dial V1, and Touchscreen Switch S100.

They can all be installed in the place that a standard light switch would normally take up and are designed to control other wireless smart home accessories as well.

Aqara says that the new panels can connect over either Thread or Zigbee but it has so far not confirmed any kind of prices for any of these new accessories, but launches are set to take place this year.

“The new Panel Hub S1 Plus, Touchscreen Dial V1, and Touchscreen Switch S100 can be installed in place of a regular light switch,” The Verge explains. “They can control the existing circuit and wirelessly manage devices connected to the panel through the Aqara smart home app.

This lets you — and anyone in your home — use touch to adjust lights, thermostats, blinds, and more without needing a phone or knowing the right voice command.” Support for controlling other Matter devices is also offered with six wireless buttons available for those accessories.
