CES 2025: Intel Debuts New Arrow Lake AI CPUs For All Your Laptop Needs

CES 2025 is now officially underway and that means that the tech industry’s great and the good are now in Las Vegas to show off what they’ve been working on.

Much of it will probably never see the light of day beyond a sweaty hotel on The Strip, but Intel’s new Arrow Lake chips are very much real. And they’re expected to debut in new laptops this quarter.

The new chips are designed to be used in laptops that require a little more performance and will come in the form of 200H and 200HX versions of the previous Core Ultra 200V chips.

At the very top of the range is the new Core Ultra 200HX family of silicon that will top out with the Core Ultra 9 285HX. That chip will sport 24 cores, eight of which will be performance cores while the clock speed will reach a maximum 5.5GHz.

The onboard GPU isn’t much to write home about, but these chips will be paired with Nvidia or AMD GPUs in high-end gaming and workstation laptops.

The Core Ultra 200H lineup tops out at the Core Ultra 9 285H with a 5.4GHz top speed from its 16 cores, six of which are designed for performance. Those chips come with eight Intel Arc GPU cores which while not winning any gaming awards will be more than enough for some casual gaming here and there.

As for timeframes, Engadget reports that these chips are expected to arrive in new machines in the first quarter of the year so at least we won’t have to wait too long before we see what Intel has been cooking.
