Apple has today seeded visionOS 2.2 beta 4 to developers. The release comes couple of weeks after third beta seed and it brings with it one major feature for Vision Pro users having Mac.
This feature is ultrawide display mode for Mac Virtual Display which lets Mac users use Vision Pro as ultrawide display/monitor, as can be seen in the image below.
visionOS 2.2 also includes other features, including Audio routing through the Vision Pro itself, Higher display resolution, alongside Wide and Ultrawide display modes for Mac Virtual Display.
We anticipate a public launch for visionOS 2.2 update within the next week or two. Consequently, this is likely the final beta before the release candidate (RC), and it’s unlikely to introduce any new features or changes. Instead, the primary focus of beta 4 is on enhancing performance and stability, ensuring that the software is well-prepared for its widespread launch.
To update to visionOS 2.2 beta 4, head over to Settings > General > Software Update section of the device and update your Vision Pro from there.
Keep in mind that visionOS 2.2 beta is available currently only to developers registered on Apple Developer Program portal, more info on which can be found over at developer.apple.com.
