iOS 18.2 Beta 1 Features, Changelog, Release Notes: All New Features In One Place

Here are iOS 18.2 beta 1 features, changelog, release notes all in one place for iPhone and iPad users.

As you may already know by now, Apple today released iOS 18.2 beta 1 with a ton of new features that are coming to everyone in December of this year.

While Apple hasn’t released public facing release notes or changelog for iOS 18.2 beta 1 yet – mainly because it’s currently only available to Apple Developer Program users – we have compiled a list of everything that is coming to your iPhone or iPad as part of iOS 18.2 and iPadOS 18.2, and you can take a look at below.   • Visual Intelligence comes to iPhone 16 devices where it can be used to identify objects and places around you using Camera Control button. You can check business hours and reviews if the camera is focused on a restaurant, copy and read text aloud, search for items on Google, ask ChatGPT questions about objects in view, and much more.
  • Image Playground finally arrives as part of Apple Intelligence suite and is available to use in Messages app.
  • Image Wand is also now available as part of Apple Intelligence and is available in Notes app. On the iPad though, it is also available to use with Apple Pencil.
  • Genmoji is yet another Apple Intelligence feature that brings ability to create custom emojis using AI.
  • ChatGPT integration is now available in Siri where you can hand off some Siri requests to ChatGPT.
  • iOS 18.2 Apple Intelligence now supports English in Australia, Canada, New Zealand, South Africa, and the UK in addition to U.S. English.
  • The Rewrite Writing Tools feature now lets you describe the tone or content you want.

Apart from aforementioned Apple Intelligence related features, there are other changes in iOS 18.2 which are as follows:

  • Mail app gets new categorization. Mail app also includes bigger photos for contacts and businesses.
  • In the Apple Arcade section of the App Store, the “All Games” area now features a new drop-down filter menu and the ability to disable game previews.
  • In EU, users can now delete stock Apple apps such as App Store, Safari, Messages, Photos and even Camera.
  • In the Sound and Haptics section of the Settings app, there’s a new Volume Limit feature with a “Limit Maximum Volume” toggle, allowing you to control the maximum volume for audio playback from the ‌iPhone‌ speaker, including songs, movies, and other media.
  • All users can now change default apps for Email, Messaging, Calling, Web Browser and more.
  • Voice Memos app now lets you separate layers and can also let you put two tracks on top of another in a layer.
  • Sleep Apnea is now available in Canada.
  • In the Safari settings, a new section has been added for managing website data and history, featuring import and export options, along with the Clear History and Website Data tool.
  • You can now favorite categories in Apple Podcasts app.
  • Control Center adds new “Type to Siri” control option. Apple has removed Satellite control and changed the icon for Adaptive Audio.
  • App icons in the Settings app and Share Sheet now align with the current Home Screen theme.
  • New “Generate Image” shortcut action is now available in Shortcuts app.
