New M4 Macs And A Refreshed iPad mini Could Debut On November 1

If you’re holding off buying a new Mac for Apple to announce the new M4 upgrades, you aren’t alone. But you might only have to wait a few more weeks according to a new report. The same can be said for potential iPad mini buyers, too.

Ever since the M4 debuted in the iPad Pro earlier this year we’ve been waiting for Apple to bring the same chip to the Mac.

New M4 Pro and M4 Max chips are also expected, and now a new report by Bloomberg‘s Mark Gurman claims that November 1 will be the big day. Gurman was writing in the weekly Power On newsletter when he also said that Apple could update the iPad mini at the same time.

According to Gurman, the November 1 date should see the arrival of both desktop and laptop Macs, not to mention the iPad mini 7.

  • Low-end 14-inch MacBook Pro with M4 chip (code-named J604)
  • High-end 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pros with M4 chips (J614 and J616)
  • Revamped Mac mini in M4 and M4 Pro chip configurations (J773)
  • Refreshed iMac with an M4 chip (J623)
  • Refreshed iPad mini (J410)

Those waiting for a MacBook Air will have to wait until next year, Gurman believes, with new iPad Airs and a refreshed iPhone SE also in the cards.

Interestingly, Gurman also notes that Apple is expected to launch an upgraded AirTag item finder accessory in 2025, too. Details surrounding what that refresh will include are hard to come by currently, however.
