Apple Intelligence iOS 18.1 Release Date For iPhone Revealed In New Report

If you’re the proud new owner of an iPhone 16 or iPhone 16 Pro and are still wondering where your promised Apple Intelligence features are, you might not have to wait too much longer.

That’s according to a new report which claims that the iOS 18.1 software u[date will be released on October 28.

Writing in the weekly Power On newsletter Gurman says that Apple is aiming for a public iOS 18.1 release on that date, although it’s important to remember that there is always the chance that bugs or issues will be found that require the release to be pushed.

Expectations were that mid-October would be the likely timeframe for when the iOS 18.1 update would drop, but it’s now thought that Apple will take a little longer to ensure that everything is ready for primetime.

The new update will bring some Apple Intelligence features to the iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 16, and iPhone 16 Pro owners while other ill not roll out until a later iOS 18.2 software update. Features including new writing tools, and improved Siri, and the ability to remove things from photos are all included. The same can be said for intelligent notification summaries as well as generative AI-based Memories creations in the Photos app. Apple will also add the ability for iOS to intelligently block unnecessary notifications as part of a new Focus mode, too.

Further improvements will include ChatGPT support and generative AI features coming to iOS 18.2 while iOS 18.3 and iOS 18.4 have been slated for the arrival of a whole new Siri.
