Tesla Launches MagSafe Portable Charger For iPhone That Can Recharge Wirelessly In Car

Tesla’s Wireless Portable Charger is now available, with the charger now available both the United States for $95 USD, and Canada for $130 CAD. There’s no word yet on when we can expect the charger to go on sale in other regions, however.

The new charger is available in three colors, with buyers able to choose between Black, White, and Rose Gold while the portability is brought about by a 5,000mAh battery.

It’s able to charge two devices at once via Qi wireless charging, with watches, phones, and earbuds all supported. USB-C charging is also offered for topping up the battery, and there’s an integrated cable that ensures it’s always to hand when needed. It hides away in the charger itself when it isn’t, though.

The magnetic design means that owners of iPhones with StandBy support will be able to enjoy that feature anywhere, bringing alarm clock-like experiences to a whole new generation. There’s an LED indicator that shows the battery’s current state of charge, and while it isn’t cheap. there’s no denying that this is a cool little bit of kit.
