Apple is expected to announce the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max flagship devices next month and new details have leaked about what their new A17 Bionic chip will have to offer in terms of specifications.
Those new details come via leaker Unknownz21 and a post to X, although it’s important to note that it’s impossible to confirm that these are accurate until Apple announces things next month.
Taking the new information at face value, however, it appears that the A17 Bionic chip will come with six CPU cores and six GPU cores with a clock speed of 3.7GHz. It’s also thought that the new high-end iPhones will come equipped with 6GB of LPDDR5 RAM from Micron and Samsung.
We already expect that Apple’s new A17 Bionic chip will be based on TSMC’s latest and greatest 3nm manufacturing process, too.
As for the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus, we’re expecting that those two handsets will use the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max chips from last year. Those A16 Bionic chips are still an upgrade over the A15 chips that were used on the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus models.

The A17 is used by both the D83 and D84, also likely planned for D47 and D48 (16 series), as the D9x will use t8140 (A18).

Apple is expected to announce all four new iPhones during an event on September 12, with the new handsets then likely to go up for pre-order on September 15. If that’s the case, we can then expect them to go on sale on September 22.
