Apple is getting ready to launch the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro Max later this year and a new report by Bloomberg suggests that the company will sell them at a higher price than previous models.
Citing unnamed sources, Bloomberg‘s report says that Apple is set to increase the price of its two best iPhones when they arrive, likely in or around September this year.
The report, by Debby Wi and Takashi Mochizuki, notes that these price hikes will come as the global smartphone market continues to become under increasing pressure.
The Cupertino, California-based company is aiming to hold shipments steady despite tumult in the global economy and a projected decline in the overall smartphone market. It’s likely to increase revenue overall because Apple is considering raising the price for Pro models, said the people, asking not to be named because the targets aren’t public.
Ongoing financial struggles around the globe mean that people are less likely to rush out to buy brand-new iPhones later this year, but Apple may consider that the high-end models are aimed at customers who are more likely to absorb a price increase.
Whether that will turn out to be the case remains to be seen, but the Pro iPhones have proven to be the most popular of late thanks in part to camera upgrades.
