Apple could be about to finally give the iPad the ability to have its Lock Screen customized, according to a new report.
With Apple set to announce iPadOS 17 during its WWDC23 event in June it’s now been reported that it will allow people to customize their iPad Lock Screen for the first time.
Apple already allows iPhone owners to do it after making iOS 16 available in September 2022.
This new report comes via Twitter leaker @analyst941 and suggests that Apple will bring some big changes to the iPad. They claim that the iPad will get Lock Screen widgets as well as new wallpaper types including Emoji and Weather, just like the iPhone. Photo tints and styles will also be offered while Lock Screens will be linked to Focus Modes, again like on the iPhone.
Those who like to customize their clock and date format will be able to do that, while a wallpaper depth effect will also be offered.

iOS 17 has also been tipped for improvements to its current customization options including new Lock Screen font size options and a new button for sharing custom Lock Screen designs.
This particular leaker previously correctly predicted the arrival of the iPhone 14 Pro’s Dynamic Island, but that doesn’t mean that any of this should be taken as gospel. With Apple announcing iOS 17 and iPadOS 17 at WWDC23 we’ll know for sure soon enough.
