Truecaller has a new feature AI Assistant that will help you screen your calls so that you don’t have to. Here are the details on this.
Truecaller, the popular spam call blocker, has a new update out that changes the way people deal with incoming calls.
The update, which is available for both iPhone and Android users, brings a new AI-powered call screener to the mix, allowing people to learn what a call is about before deciding whether to answer.
The feature is called Truecaller Assistant, and it works the way you might imagine it to. Any call that you don’t answer or reject is automatically forwarded to the Truecaller assistant, where the caller is asked what the purpose of the call is.
Our AI is able to filter the information given by the caller and is able to tell with more than 90% accuracy if the call is spam or not. With all this information, it is easier than ever to decide whether or not to pick up the call, or block!
From there, the user can interact with the Truecaller Assistant, asking more questions of the caller as required.
The caller will hear the assistant asking ‘hi, the person you’re calling is using a screening service, may I ask who it is?’ and the reason for the call. From here you can open up the chat window if you need more information. Then you can decide whether to accept or reject the call.
Right now, Truecaller Assistant is available in English and in the United States, although more languages and countries are expected to come on line in due course.
The feature can be tested out for free as part of a trial, although a subscription will be needed if you want to use it beyond that trial period.
