iPhone Demand Reportedly Remains High Despite A Slowdown In The Tech Market

Apple’s iPhone remains in high demand and has proven to be “surprisingly resilient” according to a new report by Wedbush analysts Daniel Ives and John Katsingris. The news comes despite supply chain issues and other factors.

Despite “compression across the board in tech” it’s thought that iPhones have continued to remain strong in terms of sales.

While iPhones have so far been relatively easy to get hold of, other Apple products haven’t fared quite so well. Buying a new MacBook Pro, for example, is currently a difficult prospect with Apple deliveries expected to take weeks and in some cases, months.

One issue that could affect the upcoming iPhone 14 launch, however, is the ongoing issues that Chinese manufacturing plants are suffering in terms of COVID-19 lockdowns. Multiple lockdowns have impacted plants, but Wedbush expects that things will be in a better place come iPhone 14 launch time.

We believe the initial bogey and production plans for iPhone 14 should be up modestly from iPhone 13 out of the gates which speaks to Apple’s confidence that pent up demand for this next release remain healthy despite the jittery macro.

The report goes on to suggest that almost a quarter of a billion iPhones have not been upgraded for around 3.5 years, making the iPhone 14 release an important one — and one that could drive huge demand based on previous upgrade cycles.
