Apple has released an all-new app for iOS devices today. It’s called iTunes Movie Trailers and it, well, lets users watch movie trailers (and more!). The app is a part of a string of all new apps released today.
Its title iTunes Movie Trailers suggests that it is just a plain old app that lets you watch movie trailers from iTunes. Thankfully, there’s a whole lot more to this app than just movie trailers and we’ve talked about that, in a bit of detail, after the quote.
From App Store:
iTunes Movie Trailers puts the newest and most exclusive movie previews in HD in your hands. Browse trailers, clips, and featurettes for the biggest Hollywood blockbusters and independent cinema; view stunning HD photos; explore a year-long calendar of movie releases; find showtimes near you and get ticket info directly from your iPad or iPhone.
Alright, so yes: iTunes Movie Trailers is a must-have app for movie buffs. If you like watching the latest films and like to know more about them, you’ll definitely want to try this out. You can not only watch movie trailers, but also behind-the-scenes featurettes and exclusive images in HD (or SD if you’ve got slow internet). Besides this, you can check out which films are currently playing at local theaters and – this is actually pretty cool – purchase tickets directly from your iOS device. You can also browse through charts by most downloaded trailers, box office rankings and most popular movies. All videos can, of course, be watched on your TV with AirPlay.
iTunes Movie Trailers works with iPhone 3GS/4/4S, the original iPad and iPad 2, iPod touch 3G/4G. Your iOS device must be on iOS 4.3 or above. If you wish to push downloaded trailers to iCloud, you will need to be on iOS 5 which, if you’re following the news, was released just about an hour ago.
The app is completely free and can be downloaded from the link embedded below. Do let us know what you think of it in our comments section on Facebook.
