Those with jailbroken iDevices far and wide rely on the innovative geniuses that make up the hacking community to grace them with the tweaks and apps to make the whole experience of owning one of Apple’s portable creations a truly complete one. The devs have delivered the goods once again with a very useful tweak which allows users to upload files through Safari on their jailbroken iPhone, iPad, iPod touch devices.
The stock Mobile Safari, which comes preloaded on all web-enabled iDevices, has long since been tweaked in order to cater for those who wish to get a more desktop-like experience from what is a clean but fairly limited mobile app. Safari Download Manager, for example, was released a year ago and enabled users to download files to their devices, and it has turned out to be one of those crucial apps for those requiring on-the-go downloading capabilities.
The new Safari Upload Enabler, which has been developed by H. Samara & N. Bassen, costs just a mere $1.99 over at the BigBoss repository. It enables native file uploading to any website through your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch filling that void left by Apple’s limitations. It features a file and photo/video picker enabling you to upload files as you would on your PC or Mac.
It does not however, support iOS 4.0 or 4.1, which has been put down due to an "internal memory allocation issue" , but it works like a charm on iOS 4.2 and up. Note that this app doesn’t give you a springboard icon, so you will, like any other large quantity of jailbreak apps, have to alter it through the Settings app.
You can follow our step by step guide posted here to jailbreak your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch on iOS 4.3.5 using Redsn0w (or PwnageTool), or on iOS 4.3.4 using Redsn0w or PwnageTool (iPhone, iPad, iPod touch), or iOS 4.3.3 using Redsn0w, PwnageTool, Sn0wbreeze & JailbreakMe (that last one being the easiest). If you’re already using iOS 5 beta, you can jailbreak it using tools like Redsn0w (for Mac and Windows), or Sn0wbreeze.
