The developers at GreenPois0n announced limited edition T-shirts, as well as updates on its future jailbreaking software in a "State of the Chronic" post, providing status update on the the iPad 2 jailbreak, and GreenPois0n support for iOS 4.3.x. No releases yet, but they’re close (or are they?)!
Jailbreaking the iPad 2 has been a challenge from the beginning, and so far no one has manage to do it successfully. On May 1st, Joshua Hill (P0sixninja), one of the developers of GreenPois0n, issued a challenge to Geohot, who was the first to unlock an original iPhone back in 2007. And more recently, when he openly stated that the iPad 2 jailbreak is “coming in weeks”. Apparently, the Chronic Dev Team has managed to put a hold on that:
As I’m sure many people have heard, Josh (p0sixninja) has recently been quoted saying the iPad 2 jailbreak is coming in “weeks”, I know I have been very publicly abrasive and non-commital on giving any kind of timeframe or comment on this matter, but at the behest of Josh (in conjunction with his need for a swift kick to the ass for motivation) we’re ALL going to hold him to that!!! I’m not going to get into extensive detail about this, but what I will say one of the missing puzzle pieces may have reared its head and cast a glance in our direction… take from that what you will.
Chronic Dev Team has also pledged to work on an iOS 4.3.x jailbreak, but on a lower priority until the iPad 2 one was ready. But they have now decided to go ahead with GreenPois0n RC6.2, the next version of the tool which will fully support iOS 4.3.x. It is important to note that this won’t be an industry first: the developers behind major jailbreak tools (Redsn0w, PwnageTool and Sn0wbreeze) have already come out with fully-working jailbreak solutions based on i0n1c’s exploit.
While no releases were made today, Chronic Dev Team is taking an extra step to keep fans happy: GeenPois0n apparel. While the team claims no details are set in stone as of yet, very soon fans will be able to purchase shirts and hoodies with the GreenPois0n logo stamped on them. There will be different designs, of course, and they definitely don’t look cheap or rushed. This will help users express their love, but more importantly, support Chronic Dev as it keeps coming out with new hacks.
