Apple has just made available to download iOS 10.3 beta 5, tvOS 10.2 beta 5 and watchOS 3.2 beta 5 to those registered on the Apple Developer Program portal.
This release comes approximately one week after the release of beta 4 seed of the aforementioned platforms, and one day after the company seeded beta 5 of macOS 10.12.4 to both developers and public beta testers.
iOS 10.3 Beta 5
The fifth beta of iOS 10.3 looks to eradicate any bugs or issues discovered in previous betas, and drives the platform closer to that all important final release. Previous pre-release seeds of 10.3 have included a number of improvements, such as the ability to find AirPods using the updated Find My iPhone app, as well as an improved Siri experience, both on device and through third-party apps. Apple has also introduced a whole new under-the-hood file system, dubbed Apple File System (APFS).
tvOS 10.2 Beta 5
If the other platforms all have notable improvements and feature additions, then tvOS is the one platform that is lagging in that respect as far as this 10.2 release is concerned. Aside from introducing under-the-hood improvements for apps built on top of UIKit and TVMLKit, there’s not really a lot going on with tVOS 10.2 apart from the usual bug fixes and overall improvements.
watchOS 3.2 Beta 5
Along with tvOS, Apple’s watchOS platform is one of the most popular and growing platforms. As part of pushing that platform forward, Apple has introduced a new Theater Mode which does exactly what it says on the tin by prepping the Apple Watch for use in dark, quiet environments, such as when watching a movie at the cinema. As with iOS 10.3, watchOS developers also have the ability to introduce new Siri experiences into their apps.
As always, all of those betas are immediately available for download and can be installed through the usual mechanisms. Or alternatively, the installation files are accessible via Apple’s developer portal for those who want to install a fresh new version of the platform.
