Have you ever wanted to be able to take your PS4 Slim anywhere and be able to play it without having to go through the trouble of plugging it into a TV? We know you have, and so have we. That’s why the caught our eye.
Ed Zarick, the man who brought us the portable Xbox One S, has now turned his hand to making use of the PlayStation 4 Slim, which in turn means that the PlayBook 4 S can be as small and as light as possible.
Zarick writes: So I have been making these for about a month or so now trying to figure out exactly how I was going to come up with it. I took a lot of what I designed for the XBOOK ONE S and redesigned it to fit the new PS4. It ended up, like the XBOOK, very portable and clean.
Alongside the PlayStation 4 Slim, the new portable console also packs a 720p 19-inch LCD display which dictates how large the rest of the chassis can be. It’s worth it though – we are far from convinced that a screen smaller than 19-inches would be able to do the PS4 justice.
The screen sits at a good height while the hinges provide enough tension to be able to adjust the angle of the screen as you wish. Below you will notice a couple of stereo speakers and TV control along with the BluRay drive, 2 USB and a power and eject button.
The developer has also turned the more powerful PS4 Pro into a 24-inch portable machine as well for one particular customer, but it is definitely the PlayBook 4 S that has us drooling over it, not exactly for the aesthetics, but more for the convenience.
Overall, the finished product does look pretty slick in both white and black colors, and it’s easy to see why each unit takes between two and three weeks to complete, with the cost being $1,495. If you prefer to send in your own PS4 Slim for conversion, expect to dish out $1,195.
