macOS Sierra 10.12.1 Beta 3 For Macs Released

Apple has just seeded macOS Sierra 10.12.1 beta 3 one week after releasing beta 2 build, and about two weeks after seeding the first beta build to both developers and testers.

Like previous versions of macOS Sierra 10.12.1, this latest pre-release seed seems to continue to put focus on fixing any known issues within the platform that have been reported directly to Apple from those already consuming the platform. That also means that there are currently no outward-facing changes for users to interact with, or indeed any feature inclusions or functionality improvements for users to find.

With this release, Apple is mainly continuing to fix bugs and ensure that the platform is as stable as possible for all Mac owners who opt to interact with the operating system.

One small feature improvement within macOS Sierra 10.12.1 can be found in the native Photos app, with added support for photos captured from an iPhone 7 Plus using the new Portrait mode in the iOS 10.1 beta. This feature in iOS 10.1 allows device owners to capture photos with depth-of-field bokeh effects applied. macOS Sierra 10.12.1 beta 1 introduced support for those images within macOS, with the second and third betas continuing to offer that support.

Of course, if any additional features do come to light, we will be sure to bring them to you with immediate effect.

With the public release of macOS Sierra 10.12 last month, Apple introduced a number of appealing features for those with a compatible Mac. Integrations like Auto Unlock for Apple Watch users, Universal Clipboard, picture-in-picture for video, tabs support for all apps, as well as the first appearance of Siri etc. means that macOS Sierra should be seen as the most advanced version of Apple’s desktop OS to date. Apple is clearly looking to ensure that the platform is held in that regard with the continual release of these updates.

As is always the case, this third pre-release seed of macOS Sierra 10.12.1 can be downloaded as an over-the-air (OTA) update via the Mac App Store for any registered developer or tester who already has a previous beta seed of macOS Sierra 10.12.1 installed.
