One of the great things about the release of a new jailbreak, planned or otherwise, is the fact that it more often than not brings the major figureheads in the community together in pursuit of a common goal.
It’s in everyone’s best interest to have a functioning and reliable jailbreak that not only plays nicely with Cydia, but also with the hundreds and thousands of jailbreak tweaks that are accessible via Cydia’s default repositories.
In short, a jailbreak is only really as powerful and useful as the software that supports it. We’ve seen multiple popular tweaks being recently updated to offer support for iOS 9.3.3-9.2 firmwares, and now, Jay Freeman ‘Saurik’ himself has announced that Cydia has been updated for the latest Pangu Team’s jailbreak.
First and foremost, the platform has enables immediate support for users purchasing tweaks and extensions when using iOS 9.2 through to iOS 9.3.3 firmwares, according to Saurik himself: “Cydia now allows self-service refunds within one day of purchase if the package has been uninstalled; also: the Store is now up for 9.2/9.3.
The availability of the Cydia store on iOS 9.2-9.3.3 essentially means that developers are now able to explicitly set that their packages are compatible with the latest firmware. That’s a safeguard put in place to ensure that users on those firmware versions can’t buy tweaks that literally have no chance of working due to not being upgraded.
Additionally, as you can see from Saurik’s tweet, Cydia now also offers a new “self-service refunds” feature. Basically, that means if a user downloads a paid tweak, and is subsequently unhappy with that purchase for one reason or another, they can invoke a refund back to the account it was paid with without having to actually go through any laborious administration process. Yes, FINALLY!
In order for that to happen though, the user needs to have uninstalled the tweak within 24-hours of purchase.
