Apple has just launched its 2016 Back to School promotion in USA, Canada, and Puerto Rico. The iPhone maker has always had a special place in the heart of students who may not exactly be looking forward to going back to school this fall, but will love nothing more than receiving free items when purchasing a brand new piece of Apple equipment that they would have had to purchase regardless of the promotion.
Historically, the company has offered free iTunes or App Store gift cards to qualifying students as an incentive. This year though, the company is relying on its now-owned Beats brand value to drive sales by offering a free pair of Beats Solo2 Wireless headphones or Powerbeats2 Wireless earbuds with a qualifying purchase.
Any eligible student who needs to harness the power of one of Apple’s Mac computer for their educational needs will be able to get their hands on free Beats Solo2 Wireless headphones when they purchase a Mac using educational pricing. Similarly, anyone purchasing an eligible iOS device from Apple’s iPhone or iPad range would be in line to receive a pair of Powerbeats2 Wireless earbuds.
On the Mac front, the iMac, MacBook, MacBook Pro, MacBook Air and Mac Pro product ranges are all included in the promotion, and can be acquired by a student, parents of a student, or an educator using the educational pricing structure in order to qualify for the free Beats Solo2 Wireless incentive. Of course, the purchase of an Apple Mac would also introduce the ability to use Apple’s apps like Numbers, Pages and Keynote to raise productivity when studying. Opting for this promotion, customers are looking at an instant credit of $299.95 in the U.S., ($329.95 Canadian dollars). The headphones will be available in all the colors being offered by Apple, including the Gold, Rose Gold, Silver, Space Gray options, and Active Collection.
On the iPhone and iPad front, the purchase of devices like the iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus, the 12.9-inch iPad Pro, 9.7-inch iPad Pro, iPad Air 2, iPad mini 4, and iPad mini 2 tablets using the educational pricing structure will qualify you for a free pair of Powerbeats2 Wireless earbuds. These usually cost, $199.5 ($219.95 Canadian dollars), but will instantly be credited towards your purchase. Choice of headphone colors? Every one of them.
Students purchasing an iPhone or iPad, who would normally receive a pair of Powerbeats2 Wireless as part of this promotion, would also be able to upgrade that “free” gift to a pair of the higher-spec Solo2 Wireless headphones for an extra $100 USD or $110 Canadian dollars if they so wish to.
The promotion will be running through till September 5 starting today, and will be available at all Apple retail and campus stores in the U.S, Canada, and Puerto Rico, as well being available online or via phone at 1-800-MY-APPLE.
