Now that Apple’s iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus handsets are flying off physical and digital shelves across the globe, it’s time for accessory manufacturers to capitalize on the existence of Apple’s new hardware. One of the big hitters in the smartphone protective case game has once again come up with the goods, with the introduction of the LifeProof FRĒ Power case for the iPhone 6s. It comes in multiple colors, offers protection against the elements, and even promises to double the battery life of the attached iPhone.
Let’s get right down to it’s core marketing feature; the fact that it offers every kind of protective “proof” that you could want for your valuable iPhone 6s, LifeProof promise that the new FRĒ Power case will be waterproof, dirt-proof, snow-proof, and even drop-proof. When in the case, the iPhone will be submersible to 6.6 feet for approximately one hour. It will also be sealed from dust and dirt ingress as well as closed for business to penetrating snow and ice. If you’re feeling daring you can even drop it from 6.6 feet, or 2 metres, and see if the marketing material is accurate.

There’s also the fact that the case will come fitted with a 2,600mAh built-in battery that promises to deliver 2x battery life to the connected iPhone. Perfect for those instances where the battery is about to die and there’s simply no way you can get it connected to a power outlet. The ergonomic design of the case has also been extremely well thought out with the intention of ensuring that all of the iPhone’s buttons, ports, and integrated features are immediately accessible. This also applies to the Touch ID sensor used for authentication and verification purposes.

The product itself will add an additional 123g of weight to the iPhone, and is manufactured from polycarbonate and synthetic rubber & silicone for a premium, robust finish. Every case is water tested. Every case is manufactured to the required standards of the United States Military for drop and shock protection. And every case ships with IP-68 ingress protection accreditation. LifeProof will be offering the cases in three color variants; Blacktop, Base Jump Blue, or Avalanche. The product itself will cost $129.99 and should be available the first week of November.
LifeProof also sells a version of FRĒ case with all the waterproofness but without a built-in battery. Called as just FRĒ, it’s pictured on top, costs $79.99 and is available to purchase now.
