OS X El Capitan 10.11.1 Download Released, Full Changelog Inside [Final Version]

Apple’s on a roll here! The Cupertino-based giant has just released the final consumer release of OS X El Capitan 10.11.1, and has surprised quite a few Mac users out there. The update is the first update since version 10.11 debut late last month. Preceded by quite a few pre-release versions, the final release of OS X El Capitan 10.11.1 is available as an update to all users running version 10.11 starting right now.

Apple had been testing 10.11.1 for some time now, with the first beta having come out in mid September – much before 10.11 was released to public. Apple has since than pushed out three more betas with beta 4 being released just last week. Where El Capitan 10.11 was focused on bringing in more power-user features to the platform, the 10.11.1 has been poised to clean up any left over bugs and performance issues on Macs.

10.11 may have been one of Apple’s most polished OS X version in recent times, but quite a few users had been complaining about bugs and performance issues that had been plaguing Apple’s efforts. The 10.11.1 update should now fix those issues as has been outlined by Apple in the update’s release notes. Perhaps one of the most welcomed fix is for Office 2016, which has been randomly crashing for many users on the initial release of El Capitan.

This update:
– Improves installer reliability when upgrading to OS X El Capitan
– Improves compatibility with Microsoft Office 2016
– Fixes an issue where outgoing server information may be missing from Mail
– Resolves an issue that prevented display of messages and mailboxes in Mail
– Resolves an issue that prevents certain Audio Unit plug-ins from functioning properly
– Improves VoiceOver reliability
– Adds over 150 new emoji characters with full Unicode 7.0 and 8.0 support

Apple has also addressed issues with some of the stock apps, such as Mail, and even the VoiceOver function. Those of you for whom messaging and written communication is at the heart of any deal, Apple is introducing some 150 new emoji characters to give life to your emails and messages.

OS X 10.11.1 update can be downloaded right now from the Mac App Store.
