The Apple Watch pre-order phase is in motion, and somewhat predictably, shipping dates have already been pushed back way beyond the April 24th release date. As well as pre-ordering, many prospective Apple Watch owners have been heading to their local stores to try out the different sizes and configurations, while others have merely wanted to see what all the fuss is about, but only select locations are stocking the higher-end Apple Watch Edition. The video below offers a firsthand look at the Apple Watch Edition try-on appointment system, which is naturally quite a lot more intimate than that of the Apple Watch Sport and Apple Watch models, and also gives a very up-close look at the range boasting starting prices of $10,000.
YouTuber TechSmartt embarked on a trip to his nearest store carrying the Apple Watch Edition, Chicago, and was taken up to a briefing room for a one-on-one appointment with an expert. When you’re considering paying upward of $10,000 for a device like the Apple Watch Edition, a little bit of VIP attention is obliged, and so if you do have your eyes on the Edition, TechSmartt’s vlog gives you a general idea of what you can expect.
The most exciting bit, without question, is in the hands-on coverage of numerous Apple Watch Edition models. The camera quality is such that the products are shown in all their glory, and while you’d need to hold and try one on to get a proper feel, the commentary suggests a substantial weightiness that underlines the high-end impression of the range.
The gadgetry doesn’t stop at the watch, either. As we discovered back in September during the initial announcement, the special retail box for the gold Apple Watch Edition range doubles up as a charging cradle, and the video also insights this neat little quirk with some close-up footage.
As we reported earlier, numerous celebrities have already been seen wearing variants of the Apple Watch Edition, and given the price range, the non-celebrities among us will need quite a bit of spare pocket change to own one of these prestigious products.
