Free app giveaways are great and all, but often, it’s those that aren’t selling or are below expectations that lose their price tag as devs look to bump user figures. Sometimes, though, the great apps go completely free, and in these instances, we do our best to point you in the right direction. Now, you can download the wondrous Slow Shutter! app free on iOS, although there are one or two steps involved in claiming. More details below.
In a nutshell, Slow Shutter! is designed to help you take better quality photos when subjects are moving quickly, adding a degree of professionalism and finesse to an image that might otherwise have been a blurred mess.
There’s no doubting that Slow Shutter! is a great app, but to take advantage of this freebie, you must put in just a little leg-work. Instead of running a search through the App Store, you will need the Apple Store app installed on your device in order to reap this freebie.
Without further ado, here’s how it’s done:
Step 1: Grab the Apple Store app from the App Store. You don’t have to keep it installed once you’re up and running with Slow Shutter, but given how Apple regularly runs these promos nowadays, you may wish to keep it tucked away in a folder for safe-keeping.
Step 2: Once installed, open it, and browse through to the ‘Stores’ tab.
Step 3: Scroll down to the bottom of the interface, and swipe left on the ‘Start Something New’ banner.
Step 4: Hit the Slow Shutter! icon, and you’ll be met with a ‘Download now for free’ link. Should you wish to go ahead and download it, then tap on the link, and after a short while, you’ll have Slow Shutter! sans the usual $1.99 fee.
Having already given Waterlogue out for free up until January 31st in this very same manner, the Mac maker has wasted no time in pushing another promotion through its Apple Store app. Not only are they free, but these are genuinely useful / awesome apps, and if you’re a photography enthusiast looking to make the most out of your iOS device’s shooter, Slow Shutter! is an offer not to be missed.
Please note, however, that as with Waterlogue, the Slow Shutter! promo is a U.S.-only affair, so you’ll have to be using an American iTunes account if you wish to participate.
