With CES just around the corner all eyes are very much on the world’s largest technology companies, with everyone eager to see what will be announced during the Las Vegas event. One company sure to have a hefty presence is Samsung, but while we don’t expect to see much in the way of a new Galaxy S smartphone at the event, new leaks are cropping up seemingly every day.
With a CES announcement not completely out of the question new leaks out of an Indian export site have a large batch of Galaxy S6 handsets being shipped from South Korea to the country. While details are sketchy, the site does say that the phones feature a 5.5-inch display, however there is no mention of a potential screen resolution. Rumors have pegged the Galaxy S6 as having either a 1080p or Quad HD panel, so we are unfortunately no wiser on that front even following this new news.
Other recent leaks have suggested that Samsung is going all-in with its color options, bringing brighter, bolder colors such as yellow to the table in a move that has some parallels with similar color options offered by Apple with its iPhone 5c lineup. Previous Galaxy S and indeed Galaxy Note handsets have been offered in an ever-increasing range of colors, though not usually in anything quite so vibrant as bright yellow. Apple’s iPhone 5c hasn’t been the huge success that many had expected following its release last year, but Samsung will be hoping to do much better with its own choice of vibrant colors.
While a January announcement at CES isn’t entirely out of the question for the Galaxy S6, the smarter money is on a March or April announcement and subsequent release, but with Samsung on the ropes right now we wouldn’t be surprised to see it change things up a little. Either way, it’s looking like the Galaxy S6 is set to be big and bright yellow, so if that’s the kind of thing that gets your juices flowing, then you’re in luck.
