Posting an update to any social network – or sending out a plain old IM – without an emoji is considered a minor sin these days. And while iOS does feature a brilliant built-in emoji keyboard to get things done, but Apple’s implementation does lack a few things which this new third-party iOS 8 keyboard swiftly fulfills.
The third-party keyboard which we’ve stumbled across today goes by the name of Emoji++ and features a few neat enhancements up its sleeve that makes Apple’s stock offering a little outdated.
What makes Emoji++ so awesome in our books is that it offers a full range of emoji characters in one convenient, scrollable list, which kills the need of tapping on different categories to find something you particularly need. It’s that simple and amazing.
But wait, there’s more; the keyboard’s developer also took the liberty of baking in a Speed Search Bar, through which you can find a particular emoji of your liking, negating the need of those endless taps and scrolls.
Taking things a bit further, you get the added benefit of having a list of recently used emojis or a list of favorites which you can curate yourself for characters that you use the most. Though recently used emoji characters are a part of the keyboard which Apple offers, but it’s just not that handy to use, and Emoji++ is a dream come true in this regard.
The full description of the keyboard is as follows:
Rather than having to page through dozens of screens to find what you are looking for all the Emoji are in a single convenient list.
Use the Speed Search Bar to fly quickly through our carefully organized list.
You can also build custom collections of Emoji characters in the Favorites area or quickly reference commonly used Emoji in the Recents area.
All the above mentioned features do come with a small price tag of $0.99. Although it’s bit too much, considering that iOS already has a built-in emoji keyboard, but hey, that’s the price you have to pay if you want a little bit of convenience in your typing experience.
