Here’s how to remove or delete movies or TV shows history from Netflix Recently Watched My Activity list.
For better or for worse, Netflix presents you with a list of TV shows and movies that you’ve watched in your ‘Recently Watched My Activity’ list. This is all well and good, but given that there’s no way of removing what you have watched from the list, it does throw up privacy issues to those on shared accounts. Still, if there are certain TV shows or films that you’d like to remove from your Activity list for whatever reason, now you can with ease.
If you’re a Netflix user, simply log into your account and navigate to your ‘My Activity’ log page. Thanks to the update, you now have a little ‘X’ button next to each and every entry, and if you wish to delete content you’ve recently viewed, simply tap that x button. We’re sure it doesn’t get any more easier than this.
This is part of a concerted move by Netflix to bolster privacy features. Apparently, testing is also being carried out on a new privacy mode that allows users to view content without it even being noted in Activity, although one could argue that this, in many respects, defeats the purpose of the list.
Notably, child accounts are unaffected by this tweak to Netflix’s repertoire, so if your child uses the service, you’ll still be able to keep abreast of what he or she has been watching.
One of the most popular streaming services in the business, Netflix has established itself as an authority among movie and TV lovers, with millions of subscribers and thousands more joining daily. Over the years, it has continued to update and improve the service in line with the requests of its growing army of users, and although this new adjustment may seem rather minor in the grand scheme of things, it’s actually fairly significant to the privacy-conscious.
At a time when digital consumers are more aware and concerned of their privacy online than ever, it’s good to see Netflix making such considerations, and with the additional feature for not logging user-defined shows and movies upcoming, communal users will feel much more relaxed about whatever they’re viewing.
