Chinese are known for cloning popular western products. They have done this to almost all Apple products in the past like iPods, iPhones and iPads. According to Apple, the white iPhone 4 takes ‘a little more time to make’ and is hence not available yet for pre-orders. But now it looks like these Chinese are going to soon beat Apple to market by releasing a iPhone 4 knockoff in white dubbed as ‘Ciphone 4’. I wonder if the addition of letter ‘C’ refers to the phone being from ‘China’, or a ‘Clone’ of iPhone 4?.
This ‘Ciphone 4’ measures at 115.5mm x 61mm x 11.4mm, which is almost exactly similar in dimensions to the original. It is powered by Windows Mobile 6.1, and includes a 460MHz Huawei Hisilicon K3 chip, 3.5 inches 480×320 touchscreen, 128MB of RAM, 256MB ROM, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and 1.3 megapixel camera with LED flash, oh and not to forget a front facing camera for some sort of video chat.
This knockoff is available in 16GB of storage capacity and carries a price tag of 1450 Chinese Yuan, which is equivalent to $214 USD approx. We strongly discourage purchase and use of these counterfeit and fake items as it hinders the end-user experience in a bad way. Nothing can be compared to the original device, which provides proper functionality and the experience that one would expect. Spending all these extra Dollars on an original Apple iPhone 4 is worth the investment. [via Engadget, MIC Gadget]
