There are plenty of tweaks out there that offer automated / schedule-based controls over the silencing of your iOS device, but a new offering called iSilent-ios7 brings its own unique, ingenious twist. See, instead of requiring you to input your meetings times manually, iSilent-ios7 collects its date straight from the Calendar app – picking up when your meetings have been scheduled for and silencing your device accordingly.
The author of the tweak, GoodTech Systems, has clearly put some thought into making iSilent-ios7 as intuitive as possible, and if you’re heavily reliant on your iPhone through daily meetings, this is easily the best way to ensure that you’re not interrupted during a potentially important conference.
As convenient as smartphones are, receiving an audible notification is not always in the best interests of the user, and when a meeting is in progress, leaving a device on loud – even accidentally – is very taboo and against the general etiquette.
Sure, you can train your brain to remember to toggle the silent switch prior to entering a meeting environment, but if you’re entering these situations often enough to justify a tweak like this, the chances are that you’ve much more pressing issues on your mind at any given moment.
iSilent-ios7 has just been released over at the BigBoss repo, and costs $2.99. Yes, this is quite a high price for a rather minimal tweak, but the cost is somewhat justifiable given the potentially limited market.
But then again, it’s worth pointing out that iSilent-ios7 needn’t be squarely aimed at the business types. If you’re a student, for example, and you wish to have your device silenced on certain occasions such as examinations, you can utilize this tweak to achieve your goals in more than one way, and same goes for those who want to keep the noise down while at work.
