At this time of year, Apple makes many changes to its software products as the new hardware continues to filter through, and along with today’s big announcements, it looks as though a small, but notable update to iTunes is also in the pipeline. iTunes 11.1.2 should be available very, very soon to everyone around the globe, and with support for OS X Mavericks, bug fixes and enhanced language support, will definitely be worth picking up.
iTunes 11.1.2 brings support for Hebrew and Arabic languages, and should be a tad bit smoother in operation, according to the change log. Of course, since nearly every new software release seems to speak of improved performance and bug fixes, it is unlikely that there’ll be any noticeable difference from the current latest version, but even so, iTunes 11.1.2 will be a necessary update for those running the new OS X Mavericks.
Right on cue, the new version of the fruit company’s operating system has just hit the scene, and although not every OS X user will utilize iTunes as their primary media player / content source, the overwhelming majority do, so updating to version 11.1.2 will be a necessary endeavor.
Even in its rather short lifespan, iTunes 11 has seen plenty of updates, and although it still seems as bloated and resource-hogging as ever, it has to be said that the latest version is easily the smoothest in the app’s history. Yes, not everybody is sold by the radical changes first seen with iTunes 10, but the iTunes Store has certainly benefited from Apple’s new direction, and if the improvements continue with the regularity we’ve seen over the past year, the divisive app may eventually be cut a break by the significant faction of skeptics out there.
iTunes 11.1.2 is rolling out to everyone as we speak, and should appear in the Apple Software Update tool, if not, then just hang in there tight and a notification should be waiting for you. If you’re installing fresh then you can grab the latest version for iTunes from Apple.com.
