As expected, Apple has just announced the availability of iTunes 9.1 for both Windows and Mac. This new version of iTunes brings support for the upcoming iPad on iPhone 3.2, a new “Books” section which replaces the existing “Audiobooks” section in the iTunes Store and improvements to Genius Mixes feature.
The official change log of version 9.1 is as follows.
iTunes 9.1 comes with several new features and improvements, including:
– Sync with iPad to enjoy your favorite music, movies, TV shows, books and more on the go
– Organize and sync books you’ve downloaded from iBooks on iPad or added to your iTunes library
– Rename, rearrange, or remove Genius Mixes
iTunes 9.0.3 was released in February of this year, followed by iPhone OS 3.1.3.
Note for Jailbreakers: Those of you who are using jailbroken iPhone and iPod touch with blackra1n on iPhone 3.1.2 (tethered) should NOT update to iTunes 9.1 just yet! For the rest of you jailbreakers and unlockers, it is safe to update to iTunes 9.1.
